Understanding registration trends is crucial for event planning. The registration graph provides the ability to compare against any or all previous versions of the event, which means you can see how your event numbers are shaping up against previous events from 1, 2 or 3 years ago, or if you like, just this year vs five years ago - you decide what works for your event.
The registration graph can be selected by choosing the ‘Registrations’ widget from the Settings cog. The ‘Registrations’ widget can be added multiple times and each graph configured separately.
Adding and Configuring the Registration Graph
To add the registration graph:
Data Tab
Show Chart Lines for:
Revenue and registration numbers can be combined on a single chart using both the left and right axis rather than having two separate charts or you can also add separate widgets for revenue and registration count to the dashboard if you prefer.
Select from these options:
Show registrations for:
Sometimes you need to drill down to the detail for strategic questions such as “how is a particular category growing year-on-year?” or “How are the Sunday events tracking after last year's marketing campaign?”
To provide these answers the registration graphs allow comparison of a single event section or category, which can then be compared against the same from previous versions of the event. You can add as many registration graphs to the dashboard as you like and each one can be configured separately. For example, it's easy to create a dashboard with a separate graph for each event category showing multi-year trends for that category.
Select from these options:
Withdrawn registration count:
Choose how to count withdrawn registrations in the graph.
Deduct - Withdrawn registrations will increase the registration count on the date they were created, but will decrease registration count on the date when they were withdrawn. This could result in dates where the overall registration count decreases.
Ignore - Withdrawn registrations will not be shown at all, if a registration was created and then withdrawn a week later then it would not be shown in data for the week it was active. It would be as if the registration never happened. This simplifies the graph but may cause differences with past momentary data and will not match any related revenue changes.
Note: This setting will not have any effect on the display of registration revenue, only the count.
Select from these options:
Compare Tab
Compare against these previous events - It is possible to compare against multiple other events/sections[or races]/categories. Choose the events/sections[races]/categories to compare against.
NB. If the categories don’t show as you expect for previous years please contact us via the dashboard ‘Request help’ to sort that out for you.
Align comparison dates using either:
Options Tab
Add a custom title & sub-title for quick reference.
Display date markers, enable horizontal zoom, or highlight today’s date.
Appearance Tab
Choose a color scheme that matches your preferences for a visually cohesive display.
Interacting with the graph
Once configured, the registration graph is a powerful tool for tracking progress:
Mouse Over: Hover over graph points to see detailed pop-up information.
Markers: Turn on the “Today” marker for an instant snapshot of your current status.
Zoom: Use the horizontal zoom control (top sliding bar) to take a closer look or get a birds eye view.
FAQs
Q: Why does the Registrations > Paid list show more entries than indicated on the Registration Graph?
A: This discrepancy is typically caused by an incomplete payment from the team captain. While the team members may appear in the Registrations > Paid list, the registration won't be reflected in the Summary stats or graph until the payment is complete. If this doesn't seem to explain the issue, please let us know, and we can perform a one-off recalculation.
