Marketing Setup

Create marketing campaigns, generate tracking links and setup analytics to learn how people discovered your event.

Campaigns

The first step is to create your campaign code. The campaign code is a short identifier used to group together parts of the same marketing initiative. For example, a marketing campaign to target fitness at the start of spring might have the code SPRINGFIT.

Including the campaign code in any tracking links posted on socials, newsletters or other media created as part of the marketing effort will allow new event registrations to be correctly attributed to the campaign.

You can setup your campaign by navigating to: Setup > Marketing> Campaigns
Once you enter in the details click on “Generate Link” which will provide you the registration link to use for this campaign.

Link Tracking

Choose which tracking information should be recorded when people follow a link to register for your event. This needs to be setup just once, unless you change what you are wishing to track.

When people follow a link to register for your event, the link can contain additional information which can be used to report on where a person came from, such as a specific website, email or social media post.

For this to happen the posted link will need to contain additional parameters, such as
eventplus.net/MyEvent123?ep_campaign=march_newsletter

You can easily create tracking links right here in eventplus using the Campaigns feature, or if you already have campaigns created in Google Analytics or Matomo then you can choose to track those parameters too.

Here you can choose which link information to track.

Analytics

Configure analytics providers such as Matomo, Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel.
When an registrant completes their order and the confirmation page is shown then a pageview will be recorded for any analytics providers configured here
There is no need to paste any tracking code, only the ID is needed
The event landing page will include a discreet message to inform participants that tracking is being used.
